Required things for DTV-VISA from the Thai embassy site.

"Evidence of sufficient financial assets (at least 500,000 THB) which can take the form of:

-6-month official bank statement (crypto or other investment statements are not accepted)

-Payslips

-Sponsorship letters"

I'm curious about the last two.

Can a sponsorship letter be from the (homeland) company that you work for?

"Payslips"; I understand that they could be used as support for the fact that you are employed, but they are listed under "evidence of sufficient financial assets". Or this is perhaps at a later stage, similar to the 65k thing for non-O?

Hello, I could use some advice for how long it has took people previously to be approved for DTV in Ho Chi Minh.

I applied 27th August and recieved further document requests on 29th September. I’m aware Monday & Tuesday were Vietnam public holidays, but my flight is booked to Bangkok Friday morning.

I can change it for free but not sure how far in advance to change it until. Any advice would be appreciated thanks

Excuse me, I wasn't clear with my DTV. Every time I enter Thailand, does immigration ask me for my registration for the cooking course???? Thank you, have a nice day.

Arrival post 03/09 -

3rd time entering this year on the dtv visa (I left Thailand about 3 weeks ago to go back to Europe)

Transferred through Bangkok svb (final destination Chiang Mai)

I had my current bank statements etc ready (as I’ve seen some posts in here recently that immigration officers were ‘grilling’ everyone on a dtv)

Immigration officer looked at my dtv, didn’t ask for DTAC (I’m assuming when they scan the visa qr code or visa number that it shows up on their system)

No questions asked, no words even exchanged, stamped for the correct time - easy.

Hey! I am about to submit my DTV application. I am flexible on where I do it as I’m already in Asia. I’m torn between Indonesia or Malaysia. Does anyone recommendations or recent experience on which may be better for an application next week ?

Thank you

Visa Run Advice Needed for Mom & Toddler (Chiang Mai)

For context:

• US passport holders

• Received 60-day exemption on arrival + paid for 30-day extensions already.

Hi everyone, I’m hoping for some advice on doing a visa run with my toddler.

This will be my first (and only) visa run before applying for the DTV at the end of the year. I’m trying to figure out what’s most practical with a little one:

• Should we just fly out, stay overnight (maybe one or two nights), then fly back in?

• Or would it be better to go with one of the border run companies/private van services that handle everything in a same-day trip?

Any recommendations or tips would be greatly appreciated — especially from other parents who’ve done this with kids.

Thanks in advance 😊

Hi all.

Ideally, I'd like to stay in Thailand for 90days. Travel to a different country via air (Japan) or potentially land (Vietnam/Laos), back to Thailand, and repeat. How many times is this actually allowed in a 12-month period?

I'm a UK citizen and will be travelling to Thailand on Monday, 8th Sept with my 13y/o son. We have a house in Hua Hin yet never stayed for longer than 90 days in any 12-month period. The visa thing always boggles my mind and I've been to Thailand a fair few times now so apologies if this has already been asked. I did try the search funtion but I'm possibly not using the correct key words :/

Hi Guys and Gals, this is possibly not the place I should be looking, but if any of you can help with good info, it would be greatly appreciated.

I met my Thai girlfriend in March this year and after a good LDR, I am in Thailand having a 5 week holiday with her.

My plan now is to fly back to the UK on 5th October, spend 4 weeks clearing up my books, accommodation and banking etc, then coming back to Thailand at the beginning of November on a 6 month METV staying with my girl, and if all goes well, retiring over here after that.

My girl would like to come to the UK with me for the 4 weeks in October.

What would be the easiest way to get her into the UK for 4 weeks, there doesn't seem to be a basic tourist holiday visa and I don't particularly want to pay a fortune for a spouse type visa when it is truly a 4 week holiday.

Hoping someone can give me good advice, have a good day.

TIA x
