Has anyone here in Bangkok changed from a retirement visa to a DTV visa? Im a 65 year old retired American. I’ve used the same agent every year to renew my retirement visa and he doesn’t provide DTV services. He downplays the DTV and calls it an inferior visa and would not help me nor refer me to someone else.

If you have changed visas how has it worked out for you and who did you use for the service and what classes did you end up taking? I have no problem leaving the country once a year.

Looking for advice re insurance to support O-A visa from UK Thai Embassy in London. I have previously (for many years, lastly in 2023) used a UK insurance company alongside their completion of the required certificate. This has in the past always been accepted and the visa issued. This year, I have received the attached insurance rejection message. It seems that now a ‘health insurance policy’ is required, rather than a ‘travel insurance’ policy with included medical cover. Does anyone have any experience of this and know any ways to resolve it? Failing this, what’s a cheap insurance company to offer me the cover? - I’ve already bought the UK insurance and it can’t be cancelled.

Thai Embassy/ The Royal Thai Consulate-General would like to request for additional documents as follows:

Health Insurance issued by a Thai or foreign insurer, covering general illnesses, including COVID-19, with a minimum insured sum of 100,000 USD or 3,000,000 THB.: -

Your travel insurance is not accepted (Health Insurance ONLY). It shall cover the whole duration of your stay and meet all our requirements. You need a new Health Insurance. Please visit [members only]

Foreign Insurance Certificate, as stipulated by the Office of Insurance Commission and Health Insurance of Thailand, must be completed, signed, and stamped by the insurance company. The form can be downloaded from [members only].: -

The new Foreign Insurance Certificate must be completed, SIGNED and OFFICIAL STAMPED by the insurance company. The form can be downloaded from. [members only]

Hello everyone, I’m retiring to Thailand and applying for my O-A visa stateside. Doing will allow me 1 year, this first year I would like to move from place to place staying a month here and there for about 7 months to try out each area I’d like to settle in. So the question I have when it’s time for my first 90 day check in, do I do this in person or on line, what do I need to provide and avoid any problems. I figure by the 3 month I should be at 3rd location or on the 4th. Thanks Edward

If 180 days per year in Thailand are allowed on a tourist visa, is that a calendar year from Jan to Dec (as it is for tourist visas in India) or is it 180 days within any 365 day period?

Hello All , I have a question, I’m still little bit confused,

So I have Non O-A Visa with multiple entry stamps will be expired in end of October, I renewed my insurance what is good 2026 October, I’m planning to fly out for few days and Coming back in this Month.

1, I will receive other one more year stamp till to my insurance is valid (2026 October)?

2, when I coming back can I ask for other multiple entry stamps (if I pay extra)?

3,(if I can’t receive Multiple entry stamp)

Can I ask re- entry permit before fly out , (let say in January ) and when coming back my one year visa still valid?

Thank you any advice 🙏

Sorry for too many questions. I’m totally lost.🤔
