Update and question please

Hi everyone, just looking for some clarification and to vent a little too! šŸ˜…

I posted yesterday about being asked to attend an interview in London for my visa application. Since I live on an island near London (not in it), I had to book a last-minute flight last night and hotel just to attend — which cost me over Ā£400.

āœ… I attended the interview — it lasted about 5 minutes.

Now, I’ve received a follow-up email.

My questions are:

• Does the 10-working-day processing time start from today (the day of the interview)?

• Is there any chance it could be approved before the 10 days? And I will be able to go on the 24th?

When I applied on the 5th of September, I was then asked for proof of flights to Thailand, which I then booked and provided — my flight is on the 24th of September. I honestly thought that would leave plenty of time.

Before anyone asks — no, the flight isn’t flexible (my fault, I know). But it still feels crazy that it might take this long, especially after attending in person.

Feeling a bit stressed and deflated after all the effort and cost involved just to be left waiting šŸ˜ž

Landlord question:

I rented my condo out with 1 year tenancy lease. My tenants agreed to rent my condo from 16/6/2025 to 30/6/2026. I did do TM30 through online and put

Check in date : 16/6/2025

Check out date (optional): 30/6/2026

Tenant not leave Bangkok or Thailand yet and she said she wants me to do TM30 for her again for ā€œ90dayreportā€

Do I have to do TM30 again? For my view, I did do first-TM 30 with checkout date provided already which is 30/6/2026

Thank you for.

For those who want to apply for a DTV visa, my friend applied through a Muay Thai gym in Chiang Mai, since you have to register for a course at a gym before applying. He then flew to another country to submit the DTV visa application at the Thai embassy, but it was rejected. This Muay Thai gym is popular in this group , which is why he trusted it. I called the owner in Chiang Mai to ask for a refund, and she asked where I was. When I told her I was in Bangkok, she said that since she’s in Chiang Mai and I’m in Bangkok, I can’t do anything to her. So be careful, you might be the next unlucky one. The gym even threatened me if I left any bad reviews on Google Maps. The gym has great reviews for visas and advertises a refund policy, but when he asked for a refund, they refused. And that’s the reason why they have good reviews, because of Thailand’s defamation laws.

Hi Guys,

Just got DTV approval (workcation) from the KL Malaysia Embassy today. šŸŽ‰

Honestly, the process was a nightmare.

I originally planned to apply in Vietnam, but since I’m staying in Malaysia for a month, I decided to take the risk and apply here instead.

Bank requirement: My 3-month statement didn’t show 500k THB consistently. I only had 1 month with over 600k THB. However, my account is very active, with deposits/spending.

Certified statement issue: The embassy requested a certified bank statement. Since Thai banks don’t provide this online and I couldn’t physically return to Thailand, I submitted what I had. As a backup, I requested a bank reference letter.

Employment contract: They required an embassy-authenticated employment contract. Instead, I provided my remote-work employment contract signed via DocuSign, along with the Singapore business profile of the company I work for.

Proof of Income issue: My income is in stable fiat, not shown directly in the Thai account. I could only show conversions into THB. So I attached my Binance statement to support this.

Proof of residence: I submitted my Thai condo contract, which is still valid, as evidence since I’ve been living in Thailand.

Here’s a quick breakdown of my experience:

The timeline was 15 business days, excluding 2 embassy holidays during the process.

Submitted: Aug 26 (Tue)

First document request: Aug 29 (Fri)

• Full passport (all pages, incl. empty)

• Malaysia entry stamp/PR pass

• Job explanation + relation to DTV/digital nomad

• Portfolio or job presentation

• Company registration/business license (embassy authenticated)

• Employment contract/certificate (embassy authenticated)

• Salary slips (last 6 months)

• Personal bank statement (3 months, 500k THB, certified)

• Proof of residence in Thailand (6 months+, lease, etc.)

Additional document request: Sept 3 (Wed)

• Financial proof (500k THB balance) → highlight salary income in statement

• Other income sources?

Additional question: Sept 10 (Wed)

• Why apply in KL instead of Singapore?

Approved: Sept 17 (Wed) āœ…

I hope this helps anyone who is planning to apply in Malaysia. Let me know if you have any questions!

I just got my visa approved on Sep 15th through the Soft Power program.

I applied in Ho Chi Minh on September 4, and even though the embassy asked for some extra documents (and my phone broke at the worst timing ever..55), everything finally worked out.

Big thanks to Wildcat Muay Thai in Chiang Mai — I honestly couldn’t have done it without their guidance and support šŸ™

And also thanks to this group for sharing so much helpful info along the way.

Can’t wait to be back in Chiang Mai with my visa and start training soon!

When do slots for appointments open up at Chaengwattana (specifically for retirement extension)? It is on a rolling basis? Once a month? And if so, what time of day do they become available?

Thanks.

Should I use Kayak, Priceline, Cheapflights, just watch the price on Google flights? What is the best way to find affordable flights to Thailand?
