Hi there, I'm a little way from enacting this plan, but I'm looking at relocating to Thailand in order to teach English. I'll be doing a CELTA course before looking for employment.
I've been advised to get an actual tourist visa from the embassy (I'm from the UK) in order to avoid questions for not having an onward flight. I've also been told to book a cheap outbound flight to a nearby country before my 90 days (60 + 30 renewal). Anyone been in this situation? Any advice?
So far what I understand of the tax obligations is:
1. Stay over 180days in 1 calendar year you become a foreigner tax resident.
2. You have to file tax on any foreign based income as remittance (basically pay tax on any money you bring into Thailand whether it be part or all of your wages, any withdrawals of ATMS etc
3. Your home country may have a dual tax agreement with Thailand which means if you get taxed in your home country then you may beable to get that amount credited to your tax eligibility in Thailand.
4. From reading a few docs and trying to make sense of it...am I right that regardless of a dual tax agreement if you stay over 180days you need to report the remittances and show proof of tax paid in home country etc??
Basically that if you stay over 180days you HAVE to file at least something and the amount will be determine dependent upon dual tax agreement/if youve paid tax in your home country?
I have a DTV and my wife has a DTV ,we are planning to enter Thailand next month. Is it necessary to put my 1 year old son on a DTV now or would it be fine if I only put him on the DTV after the first 180 days? I have seen a few posts saying that kids under the age of 3 do not need a visa if they are accompanied by their parents?
If I have a little less than 500,000 baht in my bank account, I only have 488,000 baht and a monthly income of 40,000 baht online and I apply for the soft power Muay Thai, will that be okay? I apply in Vietnam ?
Hello everyone, when applying for the DTV visa, the 500,000 baht must be in a personal account, but can the $2,000 monthly income be justified from my business account?
