Hello everyone !

I have several questions about the DTV visa.

I would appreciate answers from people who have been through the process & know things, not guesses. Thank you !

1. I am currently a tourist in Thailand, soon I will go to Cambodia / Vietnam. I understood that I can apply for a DTV visa there, even as a tourist, right ?

2. I understood that the DTV visa there (Cambodia / Vietnam) is only online ?

So if I'm in Cambodia, I need to use the Thai embassy in Cambodia website even though I'm not Cambodian citizen ?

3. If I want to use an external visa assistance agency through which I will submit the documents online, is this possible ?

I prefer to submit through an authorized agency that will check all my documents before I send it, so that there are no mistakes and then my visa application money will go to waste...

If you know of an external visa assistance agency that helps tourists apply for a DTV visa in Cambodia or Vietnam,

do you have a name & website address that I can go to there ?

4. My documents (payslips, bank balance, etc.) are not in English.

I understood that the documents should be translated into English, is that correct ?

If so, where is it done in Cambodia or Vietnam? Is there an online service that translates documents that the government will accept ?

I think the translation should be from a professional & authentic body and not a normal Google translation, right ?

*If it is not mandatory to translate documents, write to me. This will greatly facilitate the process.

By the way, if the visa documents need to be translated into English - do I need to send the documents both in my original language & also in English, so that they have the original documents ? Or should only the translators be sent to them ?

I would appreciate clear answers from people who understand the process.

Thank you and have a good day !

Hi everyone, I know the question I am

about to ask has probably been asked before but I can’t seem to find the exact answers for what I need.

My husband and I re-entered ChiangMai on Oct 27 from our vacation in Europe. We are from the US, and have been living in Chiangmai for about 3 months before we left for our vacation. We have a rental house, lease expires next July.

We have each, bank accounts with the min 800k baht set up a few months ago.

When we entered Chiangmai on Oct 27, immigration stamped for 60 days, expiring Dec 25.

We now wish to apply for the retirement visa. From what I’ve been hearing, I will first have to extend our tourist visa by another 30 days, after that, I’m fuzzy about how and when to do the retirement visa application. Will appreciate step by step guidance from those of you who are experienced. Much appreciated. Thanks!

bit of a silly one I think, and I likely already know the answer but just incase.

is there a way to apply for Thai visa from the UK without having flight booked at all (entry not onward) I'd just like to have the paper work done then hopefully find a good deal as and when the timing is right and pull the trigger. it seems unlikely tho

Hi everyone, I'd like to buy a new Google Pixel 8 phone in Bangkok. The Pixels are not officially distributed in Thailand but I'm wondering if there's any reputable shop that sells them? Thank you so much for any insights!

I have a Muay Thai visa that expires at the end of December.

Thinking of getting my DTV sorted next week in Hong Kong. May be a stupid question, but I don’t require an exit stamp do I.

Also, anyone had any experience with applying for the DTV in Hong Kong ?

DTV Questions:

1) Applying as a freelancer - I am a life coach/ content creator and I own my own business (LLC). Does anyone have a successful experience applying for this visa as a coach? What would you use for your portfolio?

DTV questions:

1) If I get a DTV under a soft education (cooking), when I renew/extend the visa after 6 months, do I have to still show that I am enrolled in classes for the extension to be approved?

2) Can I be denied for extensions if I finish the course?

Hi everyone.

I just had my DTV approved in 24 hours from application in the Hong Kong Thai Embassy. I went the soft power route (Muay Thai Class)

I provided:

- Passport

- Recent Picture

- Proof of being in Hong Kong (Landing Visitor Visa Picture)

- Proof of funds (Over 500,000 THB in a single account, 3 months of statements)

- Invitation letter from the Muay Thai School - Muay Thai Fever, 6 months course for 20,000 Baht with proof of payment. Special thanks to Derry at Muay Thai Fever for being extremely responsive via emails.

I applied Tuesday at 3:00PM through the Thai E-Visa portal.

I received my DTV today at 3:30PM by mail with no further questions.

I would like to thank this group for all the help. I'm happy to answer any questions.
