I just had my DTV approved in 24 hours from application in the Hong Kong Thai Embassy. I went the soft power route (Muay Thai Class)
I provided:
- Passport
- Recent Picture
- Proof of being in Hong Kong (Landing Visitor Visa Picture)
- Proof of funds (Over 500,000 THB in a single account, 3 months of statements)
- Invitation letter from the Muay Thai School - Muay Thai Fever, 6 months course for 20,000 Baht with proof of payment. Special thanks to Derry at Muay Thai Fever for being extremely responsive via emails.
I applied Tuesday at 3:00PM through the Thai E-Visa portal.
I received my DTV today at 3:30PM by mail with no further questions.
I would like to thank this group for all the help. I'm happy to answer any questions.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user successfully obtained a Digital Tourist Visa (DTV) for Thailand within 24 hours from the Thai Embassy in Hong Kong by applying online through the E-Visa portal. They provided essential documents, including proof of funds exceeding 500,000 THB, a six-month Muay Thai class invitation, and identification. The process was smooth, with no further inquiries needed after submission. The conversation includes various comments from other users discussing the DTV application process, course lengths, proof of funds, and tips about visa requirements.
I have a question. They are asking me to send the proof of monthly payments. My work hasn't pad me for 2,5 months and before that I was pai to a different accont, which did not show. I might get paid in a week, should I wait? What to do?
ALWAYS print out the Evisa email you receive which has the DTV Visa... Show it to the Thai Immigration Officers upon arrival into Thailand. And keep copies of it as you will need to show it EACH time you enter Thailand during the 5 years the DTV Visa valid. There's no visa sticker pasted in your passport.
we ( Muay Thai Fever) are running a promotion this month. 15,000 baht for 6 months. Ok it's a little bit more than what you paid but a 6 month course eliminates the chance of them issuing a tourist fever ( didn't happen to you luckily)... and well it's 6 months training too.
