So I went to the Phuket DLT office to extend my driver license as walk in customer as my licence expires December. The online que is booked out till February 2025.

I did the residency certificate and the health check up today beforehand. They checked all my documents at the DLT (all good) and I went to Teller 1 do give passport and 2 photos. Because everything is busy I got another appointment at the 23rd of December to do the test and collect.

But the health certificate is only valid for 30 days which is expired on the 23rd of Dec, not sure about the residency certificate. Do I have to bring new health check certificate for the visit on the 23rd?

Hi just asking as have had alot of mixed messages.

We are wanting to get a retirement visa and a non b visa. Our lawyer. Quoted us 123000bht for both.

30000each to break current tourist visa and another 30000each for the new retirment and non b visa visas.

We then spoke to an American working here and he said that it was far to high and his cost 15000baht.

We then went to immigration ourselves and got even more confused!! We definitely understand that the lawyer is expensive. But how much does it actually cost?

Sorry forgot to mention we are on new zealand passports.

Ive got an offer from a law firm that looks legit to do the DTV visa with them from within Thailand and then I’ll just have to do a visa run for it to take effect. Is this Legal? That would be great and save me a lot of time. Thanks!

I have heard on the 'grapevine' that the Thai is either now or in the near future planning to tax pensions from overseas and any lump sum payments to whoever in Thailand for 'Farangs' (hate that word should have said foreigners).

I heard that the tipping point for this taxation is stays of over 180 days in the kingdom in a calendar year, and would most probably impact long-stay, retirement and married-to-Thai foreigners.

Any truth to this rumour and if so to what extent and what are the implications? It seems that the money in a bank account is already a significant implementation to long stay.visas in Thailand.

Please just genuine knowledgeable responses.

I have a Multi entry type non O visa.

I am due to fly out to Cambodia soon. My return date is the 11th of December.

I fly out again on March 11

This is 90 days, ( 91 if you count 11th of December as day 1)

My question is will I be required to complete a 90 day reporting ?

Thanks for any advice

Today the Immigration Buriram made my day!

Finally, they stopped calling the "Extension of Stay Permit" a "visa extension"

Now they use the correct wording

at my Immigration Sisaket, it is still called "visa extension" , regardless there technically is nothing such

Hi, do any of you, sir or ma’am, know if DTV is allowed to frequently enter and exit, or if that would breach the border regulations?

Thank you

Hey, does anyone know if Iranian nationals who have a 60-day tourist visa can (like most other nationalities) extend it by another 30 days at the immigration office? Having trouble finding this info. For a friend. Since they have to jump through more hoops than the rest of us to get visas, wondering if the 60 days is in fact strict 60 days only for them. Thanks!

I have questions for Expats from the US:

Did you change your state of residency before you moved abroad?

How do you handle your US mail living abroad?

I have heard that there are services for these. I am interested in recommendations, experiences, pros and cons.

I am considering moving to Thailand in the middle of 2025.
