Ive got an offer from a law firm that looks legit to do the DTV visa with them from within Thailand and then I’ll just have to do a visa run for it to take effect. Is this Legal? That would be great and save me a lot of time. Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The consensus among community members is that applying for a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) from within Thailand is illegal, as applicants are required to apply from outside the country. While some users mention agents or law firms claiming to facilitate this process, many warn against it due to legal risks and potential fraud. It is generally advised to pursue the visa application independently, by traveling to a neighboring country to submit the application, rather than relying on questionable services from agents.
So how are you going to convince the immigration officer at the border on the way back in, that even though you applied for your visa outside Thai, their computer records show you were actually in Thailand. Given the numbers getting turned away at the border, I wouldn't touch that

Is the law firm in Thailand? Is the purpose of the job offer to practice law in Thailand?
Foreigners are not allowed to practice law in Thailand.

Just say you’re stupid without saying it

Integrity Legal on YouTube just put out a new Video which talks about new Visa Regs being put in place on Jan. 1st.
Its normal. I had to go. Out of thailand to get a tourist bisa in order to obtain an Ed visa.

too risky

its illegal as you always have to be outside of thailand to apply for the DTV. just do it yourself and save money and legal issues. its an easy process and literally only needs 3 documents…
Daniel *****
That's dumb. Just go to Cambodia for a bit and apply for one by yourself.

I guess it can. If you get caught, you will be denied entry forever

In addition to this pop-up window that one has to affirmatively click on "Acknowledge" to go further on the Thai E-Visa website, if a Thai E-Visa applicant does not upload the required proof of current address/location (such as entry stamp into whichever country they are applying from), then the relevant Thai Embassy/Thai Consulate is going to request additional documents if that is not initially provided or not sufficient for them that a Thai E-Visa applicant is applying from whatever country they are located at....
Now, if any applicant wants to hire someone to fill in the various fields on the website and help organize and scan the required supporting documents, then they are freely able to do so....

It's legit. They just check your documents etc that they are ok. Then you go out of kingdom to apply visa.

If you got the founds . Do. It your self.

How much are they asking?

You’re paying them to fill out forms for you 🤦🏻♂️
You still have to go apply in another country or they will just do it online on your behalf. Total waste of money.

You or anyone on your behalf can’t apply for a DTV inside of Thailand.

I’m hearing 150k and up they take you there and submit everything for you makes the visa not worth it

How ironic a law firm willing to break the law. Interesting.
Legal? No. That's obtaining a visa through fraud because you are not physically in the country where the embassy is, which is a requirement for applying for a visa through an embassy.

Let us know how it goes!

If by visa run you mean go to the embassy in a neighbouring country to collect the DTV then maybe. But if you mean just border bounce then no, it can't be done
Henrik *****
You’ll have to stay in the country where you apply from, until visa is granted ( 1-2 weeks )
