Came last year on 4th December with partner and child on the 60 day on arrival visa and ended up extending for the 30 days.
We are arriving back on the 28th November and are planning 60 days again, will I need a tourist visa or will the visa on arrival be ok? We may decide to extend again, will the new rules prevent this and should I apply for a different visa for the 3 of us or as itβs been a year would that be allowed?
Thanks in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the need for a tourist visa or if the visa on arrival will suffice for their upcoming trip to Thailand after previously using a 60-day visa exemption with a 30-day extension. Several commenters clarify that the user likely entered on a visa exempt stamp instead of a visa on arrival, indicating that entering Thailand again under the same conditions should not pose a problem. They also reassure the user about the possibility of extending their stay as the last entry was sufficient time ago.
Feel free to send me a message. I have a situation similar. I have only been to Thailand twice and the stays were separated by multiple months. I was at Immigration Division 1 and IT Square on Monday and can relay that info to you if it's helpful.
You should be okay to get another extension as the end date of your exemption stamp will be in another calendar year. I was at the immigration office this morning. Youβll be fine on entry also π
You may have no choice but to try and enter on visa exempt (could be ok certainty for the 60 days with no extension) because it has been taking between 14 -16 days to get a visa through the London embassy ( assume thats where you are applying)? . Good luck π
I doubt very much that you came on a visa on arrival. I suspect that you came on a Visa Exempt Stamp which is not any kind of a visa. Thai Immigration is currently allowing 1 x 60 day visa exempt entry plus a 30 day extension and then one more 60 day visa exempt entry plus a 7 day extension. But to be on the safe side, in your shoes, next time I would apply for a visa appropriate to my reason for stay.
