Has anyone recently entered the country with a DTV visa after a history of exempt visas with the new regulations?

Any recorded problems entering with DTV by plane these days?

TLDR : Answer Summary
There appear to be no reported problems for individuals entering Thailand with a DTV visa, even after a history of using visa exemptions. Responses indicate that immigration authorities are encouraging the use of proper visas like the DTV, and issues related to multiple entries and extensions are primarily a concern for those still relying on visa exemptions.

Immigration is actively pushing people in that situation towards DTV. I know because I was one of them.

If you've got your DTV, you're good. In fact, this is what they want. They want people to get a proper visa in whichever category they qualify for and stop using visa exemptions + extensions + border runs to basically live here.

Nobody has reported any issues. The clampdown is for people holding Visa Exempt now for multiple entries and extensions. This is not about visa holders

METV, as well. In Aug had issues entering Suv in Bkk. 10min intorigation. Was extremly cool and let in. Told to get retirement visa. Didnt argue. With metv was told 4months 3 weeks 2024 and 2025 too many days on metv. Did not argue. All smiles.

Good info. My pals has been doing 2 * 3 months here for a few years on Visa Exempt etc. Last entry from Vietnam he was told to get a visa. He has applied for 90 Day "O" in the UK and had to show 20k GBP in personal account (He showed over 1 million in Investment but would not accept lol). I just told him maybe a METV would be better - maybe not lol (PS: He will not put 800k THB in a Thai bank account even though he owns a 7 million THB condo, a decent car and 2 expensive bikes)

METV better than retirement visa for trips under 6months. Only diffrence costs add up. Need to do safe entry to be sure of entry. 4500b extention 1900b, visa run 6400b and visa itself about 5000b. Adds up to pretty penny almost

b for 5-6month stay in extra cost alone. Not the cheapest country anymore.

My pal is a millionaire. The money is not an issue:-) He should get the DTV as he is in the gym 6 days a week anyway.
