You must apply using the Thai consulate that serves your current location. Some consulates restrict applications to residents, so if you are not you would have to travel elsewhere to apply. Once you've applied you need to remain in that location until the visa process completes

I see in another response you are in Indonesia so you would apply using the Thai Embassy in Jakarta, no matter where you are in Indonesia

I was also wondering about this as there is no way to show your in the UK as you don't get stamped in as a British citizen so you could just send a recent bank statement or driving license

I actually emailed the UK Thai embassy this morning and asked if I could apply there whilst being in Japan as the embassy in Tokyo is a nightmare to deal with . If I hear back I'll let you noJack **********

You can apply in a country that does not require residency. Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia etcJack **********
