Hi everyone. Would love some advice please - on how long the money has to be in the account, for a DTV? I've got enough now, but have only had it in my account for a few days.

I would be wanting to live in Chiang Mai. Currently in Hanoi, but could also apply from my hometown in the UK. Which is the most likely way to get approved?

Also, my unmarried partner (we have a child together), can I sponsor him to get one, too? We only have enough money in account for one person... is it possible to apply myself (with our child as dependent) and then to sponsor him to get one after?

Has anyone opened a Thai bank account with a DTV visa?

I'm in Chiang Mai, but I like other areas too.

Please share your experience

Good day everyone!

I recently learned that if you stay in Thailand for more than 180 days, you’re considered a tax resident and have to pay taxes there.

But I’m still a bit confused — does that mean taxes need to be paid in both countries (my home country and Thailand)? Or can I transfer all my tax obligations fully to Thailand?

Also, how is this actually tracked if I can’t open a Thai bank account yet? Like… how do they even verify that money was received in Thailand in the first place?

Would really appreciate any insights or experiences on this topic 🙏

Hi all, I’m looking for a bit of advice 🙏🏻 I’ve just arrived here recently on an tourist Evisa, my intention is to apply for a non immigrant O visa . I looked into agent fees & thought them to be touch high.

I’m happy to try & fo it myself if possible.

Do I just go to immigration in Jontiem & explain & let them tell me what to do?

Naturally I’ve no bank account here but have a rental contract, Thai phone number etc.

I’ve no problem meeting the monthly 65k I believe 😇 that you need transfered in rather than the lump sum ( if possible).

It’s understanding g the process here that seems a bit confusing ( for me).

Experienced help would be greatly appreciated 🙏🏻

Hi guys,

After I have small problems with my permit of stay, I like to get next time (Feb. 2026) an extension of staybased on retired.

I have a german passwort and live in Germany.

The problem is, I can not ask for any Visa in Germany, because my small village is not in there system. Try a lot.

2024 I make 2 NON-O, so it was possible and easy to do online.

2025 I try many time, not possible anymore. Try different browser, Linux Windows and so on....

Question now, can I come with Visa exemtion and confert it to extension of stay based on retired. Of course if I can show all nessesary proof.

Immigration for me is Khon Kaen.

For my proof of income , like to get a guarantee letter from german embassi, prefer Chiang Mai or pattaya, enjoy to travel.

If not possible Bangkok. My income is high enough. No Mix of income need.

Happy to hear your thought.

Thanks
