My experience at the airport with the DTV visa was very smooth.

I was in Taipei for 5 days for my application recently and got back to Bangkok on December 13th.

The immigration person took my passport, looked at it, and without any hassle or hesitation, he stamped it right away.

I'm good to stay now until June 2025!

Thanks again to this group and to everyone who helped me out!

Not visa related, but is there a organisation I can complain to regarding a hotel in pattaya.

The hotel has been without hot water for 3 days now a d looks like it will be maby 4 days before they can fix it. So I have asked if I can check out today and have a refund for my remaining days and they say it is not possible.

Needing advice: Has anyone gotten a US emergency passport and then needed to mail it in in order to get your longterm passport? I’m not sure how I’m supposed to transfer my Thai visa over if I need to turn the emergency passport over before I can get the new one. Any info is appreciated- it’s like a brick wall trying to reach an actual human being at the consulate. 🤪

I'm currently living in Thailand (on the student visa. It expires in Marchl.

I'd like to apply for the DTV.

-I meet the financial requirement with my savings

-I'm retired (under 50)

-I don't have a business

-I don't work remotely

-I don't have an income

What options do you suggest I look into for acquiring the DTV?

I see some applying for MEDICAL / DENTAL. It's possible to get the 5 year DTV based on a medical appt, is that correct??

I thank you all for your support on this request.

I'll likely apply in JANUARY. Maybe through Vietnam.

Does anyone know whether I can change location of the application while it is proceeding? Who should I contact?
