TLDR : Answer Summary
The user expresses interest in the METV visa as a means to stay in Thailand before meeting DTV requirements. Comments provide insights on the visa's duration and potential issues with upcoming changes to the eVisa system affecting border bounces.
You can get almost 9 months from a METV if you time it right with 2 border bounces and 3 extensions. Are you aware that from 1-Jan the remaining Embassies/Consulates in SEA are switching to the eVisa system so a quick nearby border hop of around 3 days will no longer het you any Visa?
