I drove myself to the satun border and the officer told me if I stay two days in Malaysia it’s ok but if I want to walk out and walk back in I must pay the border fee of 2k, so I did.

No problems, no questions.

Agent wanted me to pay 3k if I drive there myself and 4.8k if they take me.

No agent needed.

I have a 15 year PE visa renewal coming up, I may take an internal job here in Thailand. How does that affect the PE Visa?

I contacted the London Embassy and they said that I can apply for a family 0 visa, to spend time with my daughter, while she looks at universities in Thailand. However, my daughter turns 20 in March, and so my question is, does this mean that my visa at the end of the 90 days, will not get extended, as my daughter will then be 20? (as I am to understand, 19 years is the limit on visa for a parent) I want to stay 1 year in Thailand with her, but concerned if they will continue to extend the 0 visa due to my daughter's age.

After more than two months of being completely screwed around by “that bank” they now tell me they cannot unfreeze my account and need to give me my money back. I have just renewed my 12 month extension of stay (retirement) and have supplied them the relevant documents including a certificate of residency.

My question is how can I go about changing banks without “breaking” my retirement extension. I don’t have enough money just to deposit another 800k in another new bank while waiting to get my money from the original bank.

Moving to Thailand next year, but I cannot decide on where to call home. My elderly father is coming with me, so we want to be near great hospitals. Cannot decide between Changmai (burning season worries me) and the burbs of BKK. Any input?
