I understand that you must be out of the country when you apply for a retirement visa, but does it have to be your home country, or can it be from any other country? Thank you.

What's the latest updates on the land borders with Cambodia?

Are there 3rd Country Passport crossing/using those Borders and are they able to get the full 60–Day Visa Exempt Stamp?

It seems that there are limits to specifically: Cambodia Passports making an overland crossing into Thailand only at the land borders which will get limited to 7 Days Stay (Visa Exempt Stamp), but if Cambodia Passports make Entry into Thailand via air at an Airport, then they still get the full 60 Days (Visa Exempt Stamp) and the same seems to apply for Thai Passports into Cambodia

Again, the question is about other foreign passports, but, personally, i would just use the land borders with Laos at this time

Also, it is important to note the change in operating hours (when land borders open and close) for the land borders with Cambodia at this time

DTV Visa Success from Jakarta!

But I wanted to share an unusual document request I encountered during the process.

Context:

* French passport

* Four previous consecutive visa exemptions

* Six months of bank statements with a balance over 500,000 THB

* Six-month soft power course at Arun Thai Cooking School

I received my DTV visa in two weeks. However, the Thai embassy first requested a copy of every page of my passport, and then something unexpected: official documentation confirming that the soft power course is offered by a school accredited by the Thai Ministry of Education.

I was surprised by this requirement, as I wasn’t aware it was necessary for the DTV visa. I contacted Arun Thai Cooking School and discovered that they are not officially accredited. In fact, it turns out that in Bangkok, the only accredited cooking school is the expensive Bangkok Thai Cooking School.

Following advice from my visa agent, we asked Arun Thai Cooking School to provide a clarification letter explaining the situation. The letter highlighted their professionalism and commitment to the DTV program and included a few photos. Fortunately, they responded quickly with a perfect letter — and my visa was approved the very next day.

I highly recommend Arun Thai Cooking School for their great support, and a big thanks to my visa agent Ben (Line: bkjan), who provided excellent and affordable assistance throughout the application process (3,000 THB for assistance!).

I have a remote job (not self employed, regular job). I have pay slips and work contract, but in my country I can’t easily get papers from the official tax authority quickly, and I want to apply soon. Is it possible with just my contract and payslips?

I am gonna apply for workcation, not soft power.

I read somewhere that your 65,000 Baht monthly income has to come from a ‘Govt Pension’ source?…Is it okay if it comes from a SIPP (a private pension pot)?…
