Hello group. Can you tell me what must be provided in order to RENEW a retirement visas please. I understand the basics for the first retirement visa but not sure about renewals.

Just had a quick look at the Thai embassy site at work as I'm looking to move out there end of year.Under Retirement visas, I couldn't see the non-O as an option, just the O-A ..have they scrapped the non -O ? TIA !

Hello Everyone, Advise please, Im 62, from the US, Im retired, Im in Thailand now on a 60 day Tourist Visa., I have a Thai wife , So Today we went to the Local immigration office to check what all they want to file for The Retirement Visa Married to a Thai, I was Told I couldnt Convert my Tourist Visa, id have to do a Border Run and and get a 90 Day Non -O, Then come back and have The 90 day Non-O Converted into the 1 Year Non-O Marriage , Of course with all the Stuff that goes with that Process, Does That sound Right ??.

I am in Toronto, Canada. I want to holiday in Thailand for 58 days. Do I need a visa? In any case, would I have to exit the country and come back in after 30 days?

I just received an email that my DTV application was marked as cancelled rather than rejected, after sitting in “pending approval” for six days. Great...

I have a slight suspicion that something might have gone wrong in my initial application, maybe some information wasn’t filled out correctly from my side.

Has anyone here experienced a cancellation (as opposed to a rejection)?

If so, what happened next and what steps did you take? Did you reapply right away, or take another route?

I’m currently considering just reapplying through the same embassy, but I’d really appreciate hearing from others who went through something similar.

Update DTV visa in KL embassy

Hi everyone,

I submitted my DTV visa application on September 3rd. On the 5th, they requested some additional documents which I uploaded the same day. Now, on September 29th, I received an invitation for an in-person interview.

Does anyone have tips or advice on what to expect? What documents should I bring with me to the interview?

My bangkok bank stopped working again for the second time today.

I opened my account 2 years ago on tourist visa and one year ago I received DTV.

3 months ago my bangkok bank app stopped working and I couldn't use scan,atm or pay for anything. After reading throughly I was prepared for them to close my account and when I came to the branch they said they can unfreeze it if I show them my work contract ( I work online) and one year rental contract which I did and they unfroze my account.

Today they froze it again and after calling the main telephone number they refused to give me any info beside telling me to go to my branch.

I have a feeling that this will be permanent and there is no way out of this.

Strange, I transferred alot money and use the account daily , pay bills and rent and all my expenses throughly. Yet they froze my account second time without giving me any pre notice.

The first time they froze it I was about to pay for a taxi ride and thought that the driver had a problem. Luckily I had some cash in my pocket otherwise it would put in a very uncomfortable situation.

The second time I tried to buy something on lazada and received the same error.

I'm tried of this behavior , they clearly treat us as second class citizens yet they complain the quality tourism is in decline.

I've been approved for a DTV and already have yearly travel insurance but which has minimal cover and never been claimed on etc.

What's the best option here for spending the year in Thailand as a very healthy UK male in his 50's?
