TLDR : Answer Summary
To change your Non-O marriage visa to a Non-O retirement visa in Thailand, you need to prepare specific documents. Key points from the discussion include maintaining 800,000 Baht in your bank account for at least three months, and your wife may need to attend your first retirement extension appointment. Additionally, it's important to confirm whether you are indeed on a Non-O visa or an extension based on marriage. For precise requirements, itโ€™s advisable to check with your local immigration office.
NON-O RETIREMENT VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES

I will do the same next year, I have seen mentioned that your wife may need to attend for your first retirement extension as you were previously on the Marriage Extension.

You have to look, that you have 2 months prior application for your EOS, 800k on your bank account (instead 400k for mariage).

After you need to maintain 800k during 3 months and after not drop under 400k.

I am doubtful you're actually on ANY Non-Imm visa ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

It's far more probable you're on a yearly extension based on marriage to a thai that you got from the immigration office, look at your current stamp and see if it says "extension of stay permitted until" and has a date. If it does you're NOT here on a Non-O anything you're here on an extension FROM an original Non-O

If you are changing from marriage extension to retirement extension when your next extension is due you just need to get the documentation together and apply for retirement not marriage this next time

OR

If you're changing the reason because you're getting divorced you can go early and cancel your current extension and apply for a new one based on retirement right then

You should GO to your office and get the hand out they have listing what the requirements are at the office you use.

This is a GENERAL list of the requirements for a retirement extension it is not office specific.

you should have no problem changing from marriage extension to retirement

You're right it's a LOT less paperwork and you get the retirement extension issued the same day you apply rather than have to go back in a month to get it inked in

Between now and when your extension comes due just ask your office for the hand out for retirement extension.

Most offices are only too happy to have to switch because it's less paperwork for them too ๐Ÿ˜›

Best of luck with it,

, remember, you will apply for a 1-year extension based on a different reason from the current one. Your next extension will start on the day of application, not added like the current extension based on marriage to a Thai. (As some people don't like to "lose" a number of days)
