Craig Merk Mercer your talking 10 years it's been 21 -23 thb for years. Now compare that inflation to your own country where an average shit house now is a million AUD eat out in Australia dinner for two 150$ with a couple of drinks. Rent in Australia minimum 650. Nicish digs up that to around 800 a week. Then there's all the license and water and power bills Australia is way more. Inflation is everywhere. More so in in Western countries. Thing is wages haven't moved at the same rate. A house now in Oz is over 10x earnings. As opposed to 4 a few decades ago.
Stephen Lodewick obviously hasn't tried to purchase a house in Australia or gone shopping for food or eaten out. You can't buy cheap food in Australia there is no market stalls or places to buy cheap stuff. A dinner for two is over 100$ and that's a cheap meal for two. Median house price is now 1 million AUD electricity and water are way more than Thailand. Rent a house is more per week than a flash condo in Thailand per month.
