Hello,

Is it possible to show more than one bank account to prove that the total amount exceeds 500,000 baht, or should I put all the money into a single account? I would love to hear advice from someone who has experience with this.

Thank you!

DTV approved in Vientiane for myself and dependent (14 yo kid).

I booked with Arun Thai Cooking School and used their visa agent to help me apply, as the process looked intimidating.

The agent is very slow and not very responsive, so I cannot say I had a great experience, but I got approved though.

My background - single mom, working in Thailand on WP for 10+ years, transitioning to my own online business. Russian passports for both myself and dependent.

Timeline

05 Jan 2026 - arrived Vientiane by air

06 Jan 2026 - agency applied

07 Jan 2026 - I paid my visa

additional documents were requested 3 times.

I used my Thai bank account as proof of funds, so they asked to submit a photo of my bank book, my ATM card and screenshots of banking app showing my data and account balance.

I guess they know how those should look like, and thus were happy with those, as no interview was required.

20 Jan 2026 - visa approved, no interview

For my dependent I applied myself, no agency:

21 Jan 2026 - documents submitted early norming, visa paid

21 Jan 2026 - status changed to "Pending approval" in the afternoon

29 Jan 2026 - visa approved, no interview required

no extra documents were requested wither

I submitted my bank statement, her bank statement (she has her own bank account, with 500K + in her account as of mid-October 2025), my DTV visa, her Thai birth certificate (she was born in Thailand), and from previous experience, we added a picture of her bank book, her ATM card and photos of her banking app.

I also provided a sponsorship letter, just in case.

Her application could have been faster, but with Thai elections, the embassy was busy (they were not even accepting visa payments on 22-27 Jan, and also 29 Jan).

Hope this helps.

DTV approved in Manila in 6 working days.

Freelance DTV applied 28th Dec.

Pending approval 30th Dec.

Approved 7th Jan.

Proof of funds. (Provided 3 bank accounts)

1. Current account with an end balance of just above 500k Baht. Provided 3 months; it did drop below 500k a couple times by a little bit!

2. A UK cash ISA that had matured only 2 months ago. The ISA matured so it was possible to transfer money out of it. Provided 3 months.

3. Wise account that income was paid into with a low balance. Provided 3 months. I highlighted all payments into my account in yellow.

I made a cover note which explained:

-My full name at the top with a date and titled 'Financial evidence'.

-The two bank accounts had an average balance above 500k for the past 3 months.

-A screenshot showing 500k Baht converted to GBP.

-That my Wise account was where my income was paid into and that I highlighted it.

-On the last PDF I made a little declaration saying something like 'all info provided is true to my knowledge ' signed and dated it.

Portfolio:

1. First page: Full name at the top, date, freelance job title. An explanation of what I did for work exactly. Said I can work remotely from anywhere and that I don't, and will not have any Thai clients (this is important) and making it clear that I'm self employed and don't have an employer blah blah blah.

2. Next page. Explaining what platform I use to get clients from and entering a hyperlink so they can see the platform and my account.

3. Next few pages: Screenshots of some of the reviews I have from clients, screenshot of all the ongoing clients I have, screenshot of my calendar from the past 4 weeks (showing some of my past work) and finally screenshots of my profile on the platform I am on.

4. Last page another little declaration saying exactly this 'Declaration I declare that the information provided in this document and the accompanying supporting materials is true, complete, and accurate to the best of my knowledge. I understand that providing false or misleading information may result in refusal or cancellation of my visa or immigration status.

Date: 27-07-12

Signed:'

And that's it.

No further documents requested, no interview requested, no phone call just approved.

-Things to be very careful doing.

Do not make spelling mistakes and enter your data correctly.

If English is not your first language then I'd recommend using AI to write it.

I checked my documents and data at least 5 times before sending. On the 3rd check I noticed my phone number was wrong (If you put '0' to begin with it cuts the last number off!

Also, my passport is riddled with Thailand arrivals and exits over the past year! It also has 2 overstay penalties for a total of 3 days so I didn't know if I'd be approved but it was fine.

My arrival back to Bangkok was easy. Just print the DTV approval visa, show them at immigration and say this is the DTV (so they actually stamp your passport correctly).

I would also recommend using 'ILovePDF' to join lots of pdfs together along with google docs to write it all out before saving as a pdf.

Lastly this page has been very helpful, so thanks for everyones posts and comments!

Hello I need some advise. We've applied for a retirement visa and got an email stating that the Wise Acct isn't considered a bank which we've transferred most of our funds to, that bank so not sure how to go about this. Everything else is in order so I'm left confused on what to do, please any advise anyone!

Hello everyone! I just would like to know how the DTV application works. I’m doing a Thai cooking class for 1 year. I understand I can stay up to 180 days, leave and re-enter for additional 180 days, but I really didn’t understand the process on approval with immigration (not the school unless the school handles immigration)

But my main question is, How does the application work? I would pay the school ฿36,000. Then do an application with has its own fee around ฿12,000 for the DTV. When applying, Do I still have to show proof of ฿500,000 baht or the school approval overrides this? My main concern is the proof of ฿500k.

Thank you so much for any replies!!

Just got rejected in Hanoi 🤣 Workation path

Provided everything they asked for, have no idea why they didn't like me :(

Maybe because I showed them 500k THB on my Thai bank account? Or that I put 500k there just 2 days before application

But the proof of income that I showed them was from my home country bank. Have all documents, etc. no idea

Will try to apply again in Jakarta LOL

DTV: Softpower Approved in 2 days in Jakarta!

Details Below:

Applied in Jakarta on the 25th of Jan, got a VOA which takes a picture of you at the autopassport gate (if you have an e-compatible passport, apply online before or when you arrive).

Overall this was a simple, fast, and surprisingly no fuss process.

Visa Class: DTV Softpower

From: Muay Thai Fever - Derry McCourt was extremely understanding and accomidating for this part. 6 Month training plan. He supplied a full range of gym docs & certifications, training details, reciept, scheudle, anything that could be asked for by immigration.

Submitted: All required pages provided to me in a pre-combined single PDF.

Proof of Location:

Uploded the VOA email that has my picture and entry details, my hotel booking in Jakarta, and inbound flight just to cover my bases. I did not have an outboud flight booked so there was nothing to provide.

Submitted: Hotel booking, Inbound flight + VOA approval page with my photo on it, in 1 combined PDF.

Proof of funds:

I uploaded 5 months of bank statements from my USA bank, all showing over 500k THB. I only included the transactions on the most recent 2 months - while including a screenshot from that bank's mobile banking app for the current month (Jan) as I was applying right at the end of Jan and didn't have a proper statement yet. Totalling 6 months of banking. This account had 1-4 transactions each month - something that may have helped move the process through faster.

Submitted: Screenshot of my banking app showing current month + current balance, as well as 5 months of bank statements. Combined into 1 PDF.

Details:

Employement: Freelance & appropriate income. From my understanding employment, and income are not weighted in a Soft Power application, but it never hurts.

Duration of stay: 5 months - I didn't want to under, or over-apply the stay as technically stamps are for 6 months, but if I put only 2 months stay, they may instead say I only needed a tourist visa.

Address in Thailand: My current condo details, just the contact details from their google listing, no contracts or anything required.

Apply mid day Mon 27th, recieved email approval late Wed 29th, printed it out that night and flew out the following morning, the 30th.

When entering, the immigration lady I picked was smiley, but when she got my passport + printed DTV page she had to process for a while, lost her smile, then her supervisor came over and spoke a bit, and then I was stamped in no questions.

Hopefully that helps someone get their stuff sorted. I added all the details I am comfortable with sharing, so take what you need and good luck!🙌🙌🙌🙌

Edit: emailed Canadian Thai embassy and they require zero months duration for the minimum 500K.

I was just rejected in Cambodia. No reason, no additional requests for documents. I applied through soft power Thai botany course, had the money deposited 1 week before and 3 months of bank statements. I noticed my hostel told me the wrong city for the current address. This might be the reason but I’ll never know. Hope to have better luck elsewhere.

The soft power organization told me their agency mentioned Cambodia isn’t granting any Chinese this visa. My middle name is Chinese but I’m Canadian. Mystery…
