 you do for 60 days but you need to apply for the 30 days extension

Nothing gives you the 30 day extension automatically. You need to apply for it regardless of visa or visa exempt

 yep postponed and it's not a visa at all. It's simply a Electronic travel authority for visa exempt entry people when it eventually happens

 depends how busy they are. I seen some and didn't seem to take very long. Maybe 15 minutes. Make sure you have Thai cash to pay

 Rock up at immigration counter. They will see your 2 days over and take you aside to pay the fine

 people are dribbling garbage and confusing the Evisa with the proposed ETA which was coming December but it's postponed and no firm date set for it to exist. But currently as an Aussie you don't need anything other than a current passport.
