Any advice on the below I came to Thailand Nov-Jan on a 60+30 day tourist visa

February I stayed in the uk

I’ve returned march and plan the same 60+30 day tourist visa

However I don’t want to return to the uk this time, Iam thinking of visiting Vietnam for a month then return to Thailand

Do you this this process is risky and entry maybe difficult as Iam constantly reading people having problems and it’s starting to worry me

Iam only 38 so not sure if there a visa which suits my needs better than currently

I have a condo which is paid on a 12 month contract if that makes any difference

Thanks for any advice in advance
Answer summary
The user is concerned about the risks of re-entering Thailand on a tourist visa after visiting Vietnam, given their frequent travel patterns and immigration reports. Community members recommend looking into a six-month multiple-entry tourist visa for more assurance and less hassle at entry, noting potential complications with frequent re-entries on standard tourist visas. They also mention past experiences where multiple entries were smooth, highlighting the importance of proper visa management.

You could pay 2000 baht for guaranteed entry, an immigration will wait for you just before immigration and take you straight through ,non questioned asked

Get a visa for the 3rd entry is the best option. By then those immigration officers at the airport will whine at you or deny you entry if you use a waiver.

Last year I was in Thailand on a tourist visa from November to February then I returned to Thailand in April. I went to Vietnam for 10 days in May I returned to Thailand and then in June I went to Japan then I returned to Thailand again. You will not have any problems before you fly in the airport there is a re-entry counter you have to pay 1000 baht and submit one application it takes 3 minutes if your application is ready Mine was ready on the computer, I just changed the dates. I think you should also include a photo. When you return, they will stamp your passport as long as your last stamp was valid. They don't ask any questions my 60 day stamp was expiring in 4 days when I was coming back from Japan they just told me it expires in 4 days I said I know. When I arrived I got another 30 days from the immigration office. The tourist visa is the best visa because you can travel freely and you don't owe them any explanations.

Have things changed so much, I did that in the past. Came over on a tourist visa, then got a re-entry permit after being accepted by the Vietnam embassy. Went Vietnam for 2 weeks, then re-entered Thailand without issue. But was older days, my tourist visa stretched out to 9 months.

yeah I’ve never felt so unwanted In a country ha

I never looked into it as I it wasn’t planned for me to stay this long or even comeback. I am just seeing my option I would love to stay and enjoy more of Thailand but if there’s no way of staying Iam happy to explore other countries and maybe come back Thailand another time

Vietnam is great though only had time for (I still call it) Saigon & Hoi Ann. Did spend 2 days in ‘very’ communist, Hanoi (didn’t care for both the food & people; night & day compared to the south). Cambodia was fun too, not so much the food or dust allergies but Angkor Wat temples were the finest I’ve ever seen.

Check the Thailand embassy in your home country for Visa options like the 6 month multiple entry visa..

It's a much safer option and you can come and go without worrying about being denied visa exemption entry

You are obviously no tourist. Immigration will notice that. There are reports of people being denied entry with lesser stay then your plan.

yeah it’s starting to feel like Iam no longer a tourist, I do feel settled here so wonder which visa will suit my needs or even if one exists

Surely they would want people to stay who are spending money in the economy or maybe they don’t and I have to travel elsewhere as I originally planned

If you also plan a trip to Vietnam and re-enter to Thailand I personally would have considered to apply for a six months multiple entries tourist visa at home before I left for Thailand to ensure your stay is covered with a visa. Gives you a 60 days stay with a possible 30 days extension each time you enter Thailand within 180 days.

Condo lease will not help. It just proves your living here on visa exempt or 60 day tr visa and extension which they don't like

yeah I reading that in other posts, me and my Thai partner do a lot of travelling within Thailand and stay in hotels aswell but the condo was just the best option as a base so we don’t have to take all out stuff with us everywhere

well don't tell immigration about it while on a tourist or exempt visa. Just adds a rope around your neck
