Dont know if it means anything, but when i went in with my ‘under consideration’ (for October 26th) amnesty extension, I was delighted to find out they didnt charge me a dime to extend it to November 😉
Tom ********
can you explain this to me better? I'm not quite understanding #3. Does this mean that people from America will not be able to get an extension of stay then? Or am I reading that wrong?

So I had gotten an 'under consideration' stamp to return to immigration on the 16th of this month. They had originally told me that I'd need to get another letter from my embassy to get another month extension (going to November 26th?). Since they now have extended amnesty to November, will I still have to get another letter from my embassy or can I just go in and they will extend my visa anyway? I am not sure what visa I currently am on. I used to be on an education visa, but the last time I went to immigration they had me fill out a cancellation form for my ed-visa.

My extension has me going back the 16th. Is this discounted now, and amnesty works to the 31st of October, or do I still have to go back the 16th of October?

where's the link? or is it that one with a document in Thai? Do they have the information in English?

Are immigration offices requiring reservations or can you walk in like you used to be able to?

@Tod ********
I hear they have certain qualifications before they will issue a 30 day. Such as a doctors note or whatever. Is this true? Or can you just go to the U.S. embassy and get an extension without the need for such things?
Tom ********
that's reasonable. Only...why would someone get a Thai visa if they were not going to Thailand? o.O

@Glen ********
are there some visa running services that would give me a better chance at getting a visa? And why is this country so hit-and-miss? What purpose does it serve them to deny people staying here? Even if they got 1000 tourist visas? If they're making free money from them, what do they care?
