I have a few questions regarding visas, since I'm new to this group. (1) I heard on a few occasions that visa renewals were now able to be done online??? (2) someone told me there is more than 1 immigration place to go to for getting visa extensions--is that so? If so, where are the other ones? What's the closest to Lat Phrao rd? (3) I was also told that you could pick up all the paperwork online. Every time I google the website, it has it flagged in yellow (meaning that it is not a 'trustworthy' site). Any information on this?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires if they can renew visas online, whether there are multiple immigration offices for extensions, and about the trustworthiness of the immigration website. Responses clarify that visa renewals cannot be done online; users must visit local immigration offices for extensions, with the main office in Bangkok located at Chaengwattana Road. The website mentioned is flagged as untrustworthy, and users are advised to download forms directly from the official immigration website or obtain them in person.

1 - NOPE, no visas or extensions issued online inside the country

2 - in bangkok you use the main immigration office at the government complex on Chaengwattana Road

3 - you can down load the application for your extension online at the immigration website here;

OR

You can get the form at the immigration office when you show up for your extension.

Take a look at the Thai Elite Visa as a long term visa to live in Thailand.

There are options for longer term visas you can renew for a year at a time, particularly if you are over 50.

thanks, informative. that's too bad. So sick of the rat race to Laos every 3 months. It's a headache at best.

Not a "trustworthy" site is enough for me. NO, you can not renew a VISA, you can apply for a NEW visa. If you want to extend your admitted to stay period in Thailand you visit the Immigration office in your area. There are more than 75 offices all over Thailand, nice you tell the name of the street where you live, but as everywhere else in the world names of a street can be found in different cities in the same country.
