 you have to exit the country every 6 months or otherwise extend for another 6 months once per year.

 you’re right. It is not a LTR visa. It is 5 year multi-entry visa that allows you to stay for 6 months at a time.

 I do have a choice. I can choose to extend once per year. If successful, that means traveling *gasp* once per year.

 I will say though — unless something has changed, this hasn’t been my experience. We used the same account with the roughly same amount of money to (successfully, obv) apply in Jakarta.
