no can do...I.m on a limited time schedule, so will go to the Lucky Lucky moto agency here, as Ive used them before.

Any idea how long it will take to process the visa, at an agency, adter dropping off the application and passport?

I.ve flown in twice already on holiday to Bkk this year, on visa exempts.

Wonder if this could be a reason why they deny the visas at the Thain embassy in PP.

This is apparently the PP Thai embassy info, from this site actually. I.m curious myself, as I live in PP, but I.m going to Thailand in Sept with the intention of opening a bank account.

Which visa do you think will be the best to open a bank account? ( My understanding a lease is step one, however, with an agent's assistance can a bank account be made while staying in a hotel?

Yes, why not get the non O visa, which does not require the insurance. Then shop around for insurance with a higher deductable like one one else posted...However, if you can not afford to put the required amount of money in a Thai bank to get the non O, then thats another issue.
