Seems like step one is get a rental lease, then get the the certificate of residence. You say the certificate of residence is available at some immigration offices...Is this done by only showing your housing lease? ( and passport and visa)
My understanding is that banks will also ask for certification of autenticity of the passport showing its real...I think I can get this at the US embassy but from what Ive read preciously, the US embassy no longer issues a certifaction of residency. This can be done at SOME immigration offices by showing a housing lease?
Hey Brian...I will be in a similar situation with you.
I will be going back to Thailand( from Cambodia) to talk to an agent most likely too. Ive been trying to find solid facts that one can open a bank account in Thailand, whether it be in CM or Bkk, without an agent...By opening an account the agent is still an option but main obstale of having an account to transfer money into is done..If you send me a PM ( private message) we can communicate together. I.ll be headed there September, one month before you.
yes, its getting more difficult to open bank accounts. Thats why I.m thinking of getting an agent as well.Thx for the lead of BKK on Silom road. I actually have plans to being in Bkk not CM.
Maybe yr gf helped. Do you think I can open an account on a METV, or must it be a non O visa to open an account?
Id like to depoist money directly in an account to avoid an agent, but no luck. Ive been working in Cambodia several years and want to relocate to Bkk when I retire end of the year...so back to basic Q? Which visa did you have when you opened the account without an agent?
