@Simon ******
you’re like a year+ behind on the news, infection rates don’t mean it’s not doing it’s purpose.

@Bobby *******
i don’t think it changed, and was on paper the whole time as “supposed to”. It’s just the IOs and offices do them differently

I didn’t have to take the 30 day extension last year in Surat Thani, went from TR60 to Covid extension

@Delvonte *******
so what you’re talking about now has nothing to do with the insurance companies but the government regulations. But yes insurance companies are a business.

Also “practically” is not a metric for financial and safety decisions. I paid under $40 a month for 50k insurance, if that amount is gonna make or break your trip to Thailand it might be time to reevaluate your life.

completely missed the obvious

If the cost for getting Covid hasn’t gone down then why would the insurance, especially considering the risk has gone way up. Positive test rates from arrivals went from .2 to 3.

After a year of this being implemented they probably had the data to see 50k was overkill and the high end for Covid costs wouldn’t go above 20k. This was nothing more then publicity.

@Eric *******
not really, if the risk cost is same or similar, the cost for getting Covid didn’t go down so why would the insurance

They just realized it sounds good for PR

Second time I’ve heard about Pats immigration giving out 30 day under consideration stamps, and haven’t heard of anyone else doing this.

I wish after the last extension when they removed the other visa types from applying they got rid of the consideration stamp. I’m here on a TR so how am I supposed to travel around when 2 weeks or 30 days later I have to come back to the same office.

I’m grateful for the Covid extensions but it’s like watching a snake eat it’s tail around here.
