Just did my Covid extension at Surat Thani Immigration, last year I paid 3000 but they must have thought I was cute this year because they only charged me 1900.

TM.30

Copy of passport ID page

Copy of entry stamp

Copy of extension stamp + TM.30

Passport photo

Was handy to have a copy of my visa for myself

Took 20-25 minutes

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user successfully obtained a Covid extension at Surat Thani Immigration, paying 1900 baht this year as opposed to 3000 baht last year. Required documents included a TM.30 form, copies of the passport ID page, entry and extension stamps, one passport photo, and a personal copy of the visa. The process took 20-25 minutes. There was some discussion regarding the validity period of the extensions, fees charged by immigration officers, and differing experiences among individuals seeking extensions.

It's always been 1900

yea and what are you going to do when you go the last day of your visa and they tell you 3000 for a Covid extension that’s up to them if they give you one or not.

We know what the cost should be but that’s not always what you get charged in Thailand.

Jared Jernegan no its not. Its 1900 and 500 every day over. If you look at the receipt it will always day 1900. Even if you pay under the table.

Been getting ‘Covid’ extensions since may 2020 here.. Does anyone know for sure that this has changed? I’ll be due another extension 25th March - I’m told only option to remain may be a 90 day Medical Visa..??
Sasawan **********
I'm wondering about this too.

Hello sir!!! It's your first time to get COVID visa?? ...we need help what we will do my friend should get COVID visa today in petchaburi for the 3rd time but imgration refuse to giver her anymore COVID visa...please anyone experience this one any suggestion please🙏🙏🙏
Steve *******
You got ripped off the first time. All extentions of stay are 1900bt.

@Steve ******
I went in for a regular 30 extension and got 60 days and didn’t have to go back 15 days later for a stamp.

Not exactly what I would call being ripped off, just an opportunistic IO
Steve *******
@Jared *********
Not every IO puts you under consideration. You still got ripped off but if your happy it doesnt really matter.

plenty of them do put people under consideration, and I would bet if they offered an extra 1100 for a same day stamp instead of going back in 2 weeks quite a few people would be more then happy to pay. Just because they CAN doesn’t mean much at the end of the day 🤷‍♂️
Steve *******
@Jared *********
Fair enough, I guess it depends how busy you are and how far from the IO you are.
Maxime *********
Can you tell me if they added 60 days on top of the end of your current extension or is it 60 days from today?

Also, when was your current extension expiring?

Thanks 😊
Jared **********
ORIGINAL POSTER
@Maxime ********
my extension expires the 11th, I went on the 9th. They told me to come back on the 26.

So it doesn’t look like it’s starting from the day I applied but they are giving me the last couple days
Maxime *********
@Jared *********
wait so your extension was finishing in 2 days and you went today? Or I got it wrong?

Also why come back on 26th? You didn’t officially get the 60 days from extension?

Thanks for answering BTW 🙏
Jared **********
ORIGINAL POSTER
@Maxime ********
I went today because it doesn’t matter if I lose a couple days, I got a “under consideration” stamp and told to come back on the 26th for my extension stamp
Maxime *********
@Jared *********
so on 26th if all goes well you’d get 45 days extension?

I’m sorry for all the questions, I’m about to go do the same exact thing in a month.
Jared **********

@Maxime ********
yea that should be how it works
Tony *********
It should of always been 1900baht

@Tony ********
At several immigration offices do they offer the stamp for 60 days without under consideration for 3000THB Saves you time and another visit to the office and is therefore often worth the extra 1100THB.

should and are are often 2 separate things in Thailand, other places people talking about 3000 and 6000 charges

@Jared *********
far out

So the IO pockets the difference

that’s why I’m posting about getting charged the proper amount and where, as klaus said last year I paid 3000 and got it the same day, but I went for a 30 day regular extension and they offered me the Covid extension and I knew nothing about it or how much it was supposed to be so I paid the 3000.
Brandon ************
Did they give you under consideration stamp or give you the 60 days all now?
Jared **********
ORIGINAL POSTER
@Brandon ***********
I got the consideration, probably why last year I paid 3000 was for “expedited same day service”
Brandon ************
@Jared *********
Yes I would agree, that's likely the reason. That's why I asked
Sasawan **********
How many times have you had Covid extension may I ask?
