Now that theres no Pre-Flight PCR, I wondered what happens if there is a positive testing person found after arrival who was seated near you, or just on the same plane. Are people traced and quarantined in their various Test and Go hotels

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the implications of a positive COVID-19 case found after arrival in Thailand, especially regarding passengers seated near them. Participants express skepticism about ongoing testing and quarantine measures, suggesting that the system may be exploited. Comments indicate that if a passenger tests positive upon arrival, they would face a 10-day quarantine in a 'hospitel' at their own expense. Overall, there is a mix of concerns about the effectiveness of current COVID-19 policies and the potential for scams related to testing and quarantine.

It is better to maintain the pre flight RT PCR test for all flights & airlines.

Its better to get rid of both tests & the Thailand Pass. The insane testing is doing nothing other than direct testing resources to those who don't need it.

A lot of airlines will still ask for a preflight test, it’s an airline policy also

I doubt it, especially when their base country - Dubai/Emirates, for example - have removed the requirement. Also, for an airline to insist when others don’t will certainly affect their bookings..

I am not sure how many arrive in the country daily but it must be a few thousand. Yesterday just 36 tested positive. I am not sure they can keep up this nonsense for much longer. Especially when it's running rife in the country already. Everyone will be exposed to it at some point.

Hi all, by now everyone of us know that this is a scam that involves everyone and they make a cut from the doctors, Imm, hospital, hotel, gov officials you name it. They false test you positive, come and book you with an ambulance, you don’t have a choice of re-test or where to go. It’s all setup and you have to pay out of pocket upfront. Insurance don’t cover. You walk out 5,000-

It's if the person directly to your left or right tests positive.

agree 100%. Forget the masks, don’t worry about it… if you get Covid, treat it like a common cold and sniffle for a day or two and get on with life. Enough with this BS already. The initial strain took out many, this strain is nothing. Life is a fatal condition.. get on with living already.

The current variant is mild… I had it, we’ll likely all get a version of it. You can bubble wrap and mask everyone if that’s the kinda world you want to live in. I’d sooner grab a few cough candies and have some good soup and get on with living. The initial variant… that was a different animal.

But mask up if you must… it’s just stupid at this stage. Lol.

So it's more likely there will be positives on flights after 1st April. How many days quarantine/penalty is it for the contacts?

if you are positive after you land in Thailand you get a 10 day quarantine in a hospitel at your own (your insurance companies) cost.

So. It's a double layered scam.

No fake certs from India.. they have a qr code that links back to the govt of India website. PCR tests are just $10 in India. Stop with your incorrect slander.

It may be but no one is doing it because the airlines are checking. I was in India recently and I speak from personal experience. There is absolutely no reason to do it because you can get it within a day and it's inexpensive.. costlier to fake. There are more fakes from western countries than India which has a centralized way of verifying authenticity via qr code.

Nothing like that.. You're talking without facts and as an insider I actually see what's happening.. You're just repeating stuff you heard with no experience and y so quick to think somehow non western countries do this.. let me tell you fake stuff is very rampant among anti vaxxers in your countries than anywhere in Asia. It's sad you have such a bias that borders on racism

Well it was much earlier in the pandemic and the govt set up a validation site in response to this.. so your information is old. I was there last month and the pct test is ten usd and they have to send the results to a govt of India site and the result must have a qr code that the airlines look at to confirm its validity.
