They will do ACH which is what you use for transfers to the Bangkok Bank account in New York. It is a domestic transfer - not international.

SWIFT fees are quite high. Best to go direct from 'merican bank to Bangkok bank NY account.

Suggestion - have her get her facts straight and do not panic.

Agents charge for what you can easily do yourself. You still have to front to Immigration with or without an agent.

I was reading the information you were posting and feel that the procedure, simple as it is, could be found at the Bangkok Bank website easily and concisely. I have been using the system myself for years now and find that it works perfectly once set up. Just a feeble attempt on my part to save you some time and direct folks to the bank's information as well. Don't take offense as none was intended.
