So no problem with cancelling an ED visa at immigration after returning to Thailand and getting stamped in on a DTV?

Thanks. On their website, it only says, "Spouse and dependents: Proof of relationship to the DTV visa holder, e.g. a copy of marriage certificate / birth certificate / certificate of adoption."

I'm currently on an ED visa and plan to leave Thailand in early October to apply for the DTV. I would prefer not to cancel my ED visa before I leave, just in case I'm denied the DTV. In that case, I'd get a re-entry permit before leaving, but if I'm able to get the DTV, what would I do at that point? Enter on the DTV then cancel the ED when back in Thailand?
