Do I need to file a new TM30 upon arriving in Thailand with a DTV visa after leaving on an ED visa without a re-entry permit?

I left Thailand on an ED visa this week. I did not get a re-entry permit. I'll be coming back to Thailand next week on a DTV and will be returning to the same residence.

Do I need to go to immigration and get a new TM30 on arrival? If so, how long do I have to take care of that? Thanks for your help.

TLDR : Answer Summary
After leaving Thailand on an ED visa without a re-entry permit, you are required to obtain a new TM30 upon your return on a DTV visa. This must be done within 24 hours of your arrival. Many commenters affirmed this requirement, stating that the process is quick and can affect your 90-day reporting, so it is essential to handle it promptly.

Hmmm 🤔 what if you don't get the DTV visa Approved ???

Do you have a re-entry permit now in your passport when you leave Thailand?

When did you finish your Ed Visa studies?

If your studies have ended, cancel the Ed Visa at The Thai Immigration office that ISSUED the Ed Visa... before you leave Thailand.

If you bought the Ed Visa from a Thai Visa agent, you must go to the Thai Immigration office which issued the Ed Visa to cancel it. Cannot use your local Thai Immigration office.

And if you don't cancel the Ed Visa before you leave, and have a re-entry permit, be prepared for questions from Thai Immigration officers on arrival... why did you leave Thailand during your studies?

DTV is already approved. ED visa studies are finished and the extension will be cancelled. I did not get a re-entry permit. I left Thailand specifically to get the DTV and am flying back in on that on Monday. This post is about whether or not I need to get a new TM30 upon arrival.

Ask your TM 30 question at your local Thai Immigration office.

Most All are requiring a New TM 30 be filed when you return to Thailand.

Congratulations on obtaining the DVT visa 👏👏

2 points

1. when you return from overseas you need to make as new TM30 within 24 hours.

2. If you were on an extension of stay rather than a visa you should go to immigration and cancel that when you return

Yes you need to do everytime you left the country and re-enter

Go to Immigration to update it. I’ve found it affects my 90 days. Takes 5 minutes.

Probably the best idea. Just go straight from the airport when touching down.

Is it rented accommodation? If so they should do this process for you

It's a house I've rented for several years. So I just need to notify the landlord when I return that she needs to file for a new TM30?

Example my freind went to get extension and said need the TM30 he called his landlord and they charged them 2500 he paid it and got it back off landlord then each year now he gets a letter off landlord for a year because he's in and out and saves them bother of registration each time
