no one rides bicycles in Chiangmai unless it’s within the moo Baan you live in. It’s dangerous enough to ride motorcycles in Thailand, why would anyone rides bicycles on a major road. It takes 40 minutes driving from Doi Saket to HangDong, one does need transportation living in CM.
Follow the rules and regulations on Thailand embassy’s website or google it. It’s simple. I came with my dog. As along as yours have all the vaccines and paperwork, no quarantine. Service dog should give you the ability to fly your dog in cabin with you from the US. There is no official national registry or certification process for service dogs. Thailand also doesn’t recognize emotional support animals.
Squat toilet is healthier for the body, as it’s our body’s natural way to go to the bathroom. But it’s also more uncomfortable and uncivilized looking than western toilets. Most Asian homes don’t have those anymore, only public restrooms. I can see how it’s a scary way to go if you’ve never done it.
I thought most major cities nowadays have great internet speeds. Maybe just me, but good internet speeds wouldn’t be on my top 10 list of reasons to move to Thailand…
Internet speed? Haha that’s funny if someone actually moves to another country for their internet speed…Try culture, weather, beaches, food, low cost of living, safer than many Western countries with more laidback lifestyle.
You don’t need a visa to visit Thailand as a US citizen. Thailand is very foreigner friendly country. You do need some cash, not all places take cards. Most Thai people use their phone app to pay but you won’t be able to because you won’t have a Thai bank account. Sim/data cards are easy to get at

. Foods are plentiful and affordable. Download grab or bolt for car service, it’s more convenient and safer than taxis. Show respect to the people, the culture and the temples. Wear clothing that cover up, I’ve see too many westerners wear inappropriate clothing at temples. Thai people show respect by putting their hands together and bow. Thank you in Thai is: kop khun krap(if you are a man) kop khun ka (if you are a woman) oh and don’t drink tap water under any circumstances.
