Unnecessary. It’s a temporary situation. In 2025, I will have to choose between the "retirement" visa and the "marital" visa. And at that point, it will become mandatory to have a personal bank account. I just wanted to verify this information. You confirm that she’s right. I admit it surprises me a bit..
Last week I visited 3 Banks and all of them told me it was impossible with a tourist visa. Finally girlfriend opened a 2nd account for her and I can use a credit card.
Je me trompe ?
Same questions but in English now. Sorry, I totally forgot this morning I should have written in English...
"Good morning,
I have 2 questions regarding marriage. My Thai partner and I have decided to get married.
1/ The French embassy of course asks me for a full copy of my birth certificate. To ask at my town hall of birth, therefore in France. But I currently live in Thailand with my partner. So I can't go get her. Furthermore, I don't believe that town halls send documents abroad, which would be expensive in postage costs...
Furthermore, the embassy does not want photocopies...
What to do ?
2/ The embassy also asks for proof of my divorce. Unfortunately, after a procedure lasting several years, my divorce by mutual consent was only recorded before a notary on February 12, 2024. So, no mention on my birth certificate. On the other hand, I have the PDF of the divorce agreement with the signatures of the notary, the 2 lawyers and my ex-wife. But, again, it is a PDF, therefore digital. Admissible?
