one criteria is the data page of your passport, it's not rocket science to think they could check your passport online to find where you are! If your in Thailand then one criteria is you cannot apply from inside Thailand, therefore a rejection.

They are now hot on overstay, new rules at immigration, you have to sign a letter of understanding re overstaying, explained fines and bans, they are tightening up on this because of par historical problems.
