Mate would you mind running past me the correct procedure and requirements for landing in Thailand visa-exempt and then applying for a Non O. I meet the age criteria and I have funds. Aussie p/p. (slowly now😉)

1) Apply for a Tourist Visa in Aussie before you leave. 60 days plus the option of extending once you are in Thailand at Thai Immigration for another 30 days. Cost 1900 baht. From my understanding, once you arrive in Thailand you go to Immigration asap and apply for the O visa. Someone else will be able to confirm that. I also believe that for an O visa, compulsory insurance is not required. However, it is a requirement of the OA visa which you apply for in your home country before departing for Thailand but that doesn't affect or relate to your situation.

also helps if you have a copy of rental accommodation lease agreement. Seems to speed things along. Oh, and dress well. That's a biggy.
