To maintain a US phone number, wouldn’t you also need a U.S. address? Would iNet US address services work in this case?

LTR visa, not LTV. For US applicants, the Thailand BOI normally wants copies of annual tax returns, though there are exceptions. When exceptions are warranted, they’ll often accept passive income verification letters. Each case is handled on its own merits. The folks at the BOI are exceptionally fluent in English, which makes back-&-forth comms with them very easy & fruitful.

Doug, don’t be confused by this. The terminology changes a bit, but for all practical purposes, you just resubmit certain documents yearly & you’re good to go for another year on your retirement visa.

OBE. Since your visa expiration date is next week, my second paragraph above is just advice for “next time,” though I’m sure you don’t think there’ll be a next time.

I would definitely do a police report, just in case someone finds your passport & tries to use it somehow. Because your expiration date is next week, go to your embassy & get an emergency passport & go home. Then get a new one & start the visa process over again.

In the future, always make copies of your passport, showing all visas & extension stamps. If you ever lose your passport again & you’re not at your visa expiration point, it’s a simple matter to have Thai immigration transfer your visa & extension(s) to your new one, provided you show them both a copy of your old one & a police report.

According to my Thai wife, the Thai government followed this with a letter to Trump explaining that the small group of Uhighurs they deported were criminals. Not that it matters to Trump, because his actions have nothing to do with what’s righteous & what’s not. He wants to ruffle feathers & appear tough, so he goes after allies & friends whom he knows won’t go to war with him, rather than countries like China & NK who just might respond more aggressively.

I’m definitely not a Trump fan, but I haven’t heard of anything negative coming from him aimed at Thailand. Could you elaborate a bit on what you’ve heard or read?
