Takes 1 day to open an account in Phuket. Cost 5300 baht. You get some insurance thrown in.

I don't get home sick. This is home ! People really need to consider why they are moving here in the first place. I would suggest spending 6months to a year here before making the jump.

Sandi when you have completed your PHD you may be able to make some money. Tru driving a dump truck 84 hours a week. At your age you cant get 15k together? Not being judgemental here but you need to do something about your financial situation.
