I have a friend who is 19, and he's here in Thailand with his father. His passport is absolutely full of stamps because he used to go to school in Gibraltar when he lived in Spain.
The problem now is that he's overstayed his visa, and he wasn't able to get an extension because his passport is literally out of space for any more stamps.
The extension was due on the 29th of July, and now it's the 11th. So we're looking at the best route to get him a new passport and to help him renew his visa and extend it before the end of the month.
We’re also considering just paying the overstay fine and then having him fly out of the country and return to Thailand on a tourist visa again.
In Chiang Mai, so thinking Flight to Vietnam.
But whats the most rapid way to get a new passport with space
TLDR : Answer Summary
A 19-year-old expat in Thailand is facing issues due to an overstay on his visa and a full passport that cannot accommodate any more stamps. Several community members advised that he should immediately leave Thailand, pay the overstay fine (500 THB for each overstay day), and return to his home country to renew his passport. Some suggested he contact his embassy in Thailand for assistance in obtaining an emergency travel document, which can expedite his exit and assist with his re-entry plans. It was emphasized that overstaying is a serious matter in Thailand, and prolonging his stay beyond the necessary exit could lead to detention and long-term consequences, including possible bans from entering the country in the future.
