Problem with the retirement fund is, that it is a) very little and b) you can only get it as a lump sum and then ALL your social security stops, incl. the health insurance. This is valid for foreigners, who are covered after they reach 55 and don't work any more.
You'ra all wrong. They will stop the extensions, when it is possible again to leave and return from/to Thailand again. That includes somewhat regular air traffic schedules and a border opening for most neighbouring states.
right, but before Covid I could choose a retirement visa from Immigration or a Non-Im-"O" for a full year from a consulate "at home", with trips across the border every 90 days. I prefer the latter one. Among the reason is no hassle with the immi-Boys.
Each Consulate is part of the Foreign Ministry, Immigration is part of the police, which is part of the Interior Ministry. I prefer to deal with the Foreign Ministry.
