Hi, regarding TR visa, at section 

2:4 cannot be changed to any other visa type , is this still accurate? 

I had hoped to enter on a TR extend for 30 days, marry, then apply for non~o visa

I am here on a 60 days tourist visa and I shall get married soon and transfer to a married visa. The problem I have and you will too is the offices that we need here to do this in Bangkok are all closed due to the lockdowns. I think I'm right anyway, if anyones knows better can you please let me know, thanks.

That was only for the Speical tourist visa. Embassy probably just copy and pasted the requirements since none of them can read or write English.

*IMPORTANT TIP*. NEVER trust what a consulate says about an activity done at an immigration office, and never trust what an immigration office says about a consulate. They are two COMPLETELY different organizations, and they do not communicate with each other.

Definitely, but getting a WP attached to your marriage visa is much better. Can leave the job anytime without a problem.

what I meant was that on its own it doesn't allow you have to work here and that whatever visa you have you still need a WP

yes for sure, but you can easily get one with non-b. Getting a non-b is first step, but you can skip that with non-o

right, but before Covid I could choose a retirement visa from Immigration or a Non-Im-"O" for a full year from a consulate "at home", with trips across the border every 90 days. I prefer the latter one. Among the reason is no hassle with the immi-Boys.

Sadly, you don't get a choice who you deal with. If you're outside of Thailand, you deal with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. If you're inside Thailand, you deal with the Immigration Office.

Each Consulate is part of the Foreign Ministry, Immigration is part of the police, which is part of the Interior Ministry. I prefer to deal with the Foreign Ministry.

Michael Dawson. Correct. Many embassies have not updated their links. TR visa can definitely be changed in-country, and WITHOUT THE HELP OF A VISA AGENT!!

Justin Langley. This section has been removed. Whatever you do DO NOT GO TO A VISA AGENT. You can change a visa extension yourself for 2000 baht at immigration. An agent will charge you minimum
