TLDR : Answer Summary
Traveling from Bangkok to Pattaya can be done via several methods. The most popular and economical option is the bus from Ekkamai Bus Terminal, costing about 119-130 baht. The Bell Bus service is also recommended. For more comfort, taxis are available, typically ranging from 1,100 to 1,500 baht. Private car services like those booked through the Bolt app or Bella Taxi are also good choices, with prices around 1,200-1,300 baht. Train services are available but less commonly mentioned. Overall, traveling by bus is the most economical and straightforward option.

Avoid the minibus: They are small for Thais and not suitable for forigners,- unless you want to sit totally cramped for the whole tour.
Besid ethat the drivers are all practising for a career as race-drivers, accidents included..

Bus always it's the most comfortable and economical route, from the Eastern Bus terminal in bkk. 119 baht
2 hours. What do you mean by not safe? I've been partying in Pattaya for 6 weeks now, the only thing unsafe about it is those people ramming those swabs up peoples noses at the clubs.

If your starting destination is Bangkok Airport, then it's very easy as there's a door-to-door coach service on the Level One, Gate Number 8 - BELL TRAVEL SERVICE. The ticket price is about

baht (I think). The coach will take you to North Pattaya, where you change-over to a mini bus (which is included in the initial price), which takes you to your hotel. Taxi's from the Airport are the expensive side

baht. If you are traveling from Bangkok City area, then hire a taxi/hire car from the hotel you're staying at. It should cost around 1200 baht, which includes the tolls (make sure you confirm that in the price). You can catch a bus from Bangkok's Ekamai Bus Terminal (119 baht), on Sukumvit Road. You can get to the Bus Terminal by the BTS Skytrain (Ekamai BTS). I hope this is helpful.

Flag a taxi. If they will go, discuss price. About 1200 is fair. Tip 100 if they do a good job. Don’t mess with bus or van. 2 hours or less from downtown. If they quote you higher go to the next taxi. And if you’re cheap you may be able to get it lower.
plus the 100 baht each side of the bus station ???

If you take a taxi no need to go to/from bus station. Taxi will also stop if you need to eat, etc. Bus doesn’t stop. Taxi you are only exposed to a driver. Bus you have other potential covid exposures.
You're absolutely right, we should never be in a public area again in our lives. Even though we have 3 jabs and masks. Can never be too safe, in fact I'm thinking of buying a bubble to roll around in so I can limit my exposure to this deadly flu 😷🤧 stay covid safe, inject, isolate, and watch propaganda daily. 💉🦠
What's wrong with a bus? It's 119 baht. More comfortable than a car and they have excellent aircon. Vans are often shit and cramped but busses can be excellent.

Don't go to Pattaya if you need help figuring out how to make the 2 hour trip😂
Sometimes the info well intentioned people give you here is out of date, mixed up,misunderstood or just plain wrong . There's a ton of experts here 😆 Better to double check any info saves time and effort later. Google really is your friend.
- we've always taken the bus from ekkamai. Cheap, comfy, quick. When you get to the Pattaya bus terminal, don't take the buses from there, catch one on the street. Baht buses that is.
