Sorry for so many questions. If I put 800k in my Thai account say today which is a transfer from HK where I'm a permanent resident and apply for Non O retirement visa while I'm in the UK for family visit (where I don't have any bank account) how do I show proof to Thai embassy in London I have the 800k funds in Thailand? I'm going to the UK in the next few weeks and only can transfer to my Thai K bank this week from HK. So how to get evidence for the Thai embassy of sufficient funds in Thai bank account? Coming back to Thailand end of the year. Big thanks to all the comments and hard work of moderators.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on how to prove they have 800k THB in a Thai bank account to apply for a Non-O retirement visa while visiting family in the UK. They have plans to transfer the money from Hong Kong to Thailand shortly but need evidence for the Thai embassy in London. Several suggestions include showing a Thai bank statement, considering applying for the visa in Hong Kong instead, or demonstrating proof of funds in their Hong Kong account to facilitate the application in London. There are also mentions of the option to enter Thailand on a visa exempt and convert to the Non-O visa upon arrival.
NON-O RETIREMENT VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES
  • Go to the Retirement Visa Section for information on requirements, including age restrictions, financial requirements, and necessary documentation.
  • For immediate assistance, contact Thai Visa Centre directly via LINE at @ThaiVisaCentre or Email them.
  • Explore recent discussions by using the Non-O Retirement Visa tag in the search box at the top of the page.

Why don't you just apply for the Non-O retirement visa while you're in Hong Kong (seeing as you have PR and a bank account there AND can get the visa by showing funds in a bank in your country or a place you have PR)

sorry thought you were in Hong Kong already, my mistake.

Show the proof of funds in your hong kong bank to get the Non-O issued in london, THEN once you come here transfer the money. You'll get stamped in for 90 days on the Non-O when you enter thailand but the funds only need to be in a thai bank account in your name for 2 months before you apply for your year extension. That gives you a MONTH to get the money transferred in.

If you already are going to have 800k in a Thai bank, just go to Thailand on a visa exempt and then convert to a non-o, much easier.

You don't even have to do it yourself, many agencies will take care of everything for you, for around 200 pounds, as long as you have the 800k in a Thai bank. If your over 50 it will work, no worries.

I think you need to get an O/A (no bank account needed) and convert to an O when you get back in Thailand.

funds are required for an O-A and cannot be changed in Thailand

What do you mean "cannot be changed in Thailand"? For an O/A you just need to show you have substantial assets in your home country.

Since the

you cannot change a O-A visa to any other in Thailand and when you do renew it you'll need 800k seasoned in a thai bank or show 65k per month for 12 months deposited in your thai bank from a foreign transfer that's what I mean

Correct, we changed from OA to O but we had the 800k in our Thai bank for the required time.

?? ..don't know maybe someone else will. I thought a O was only available in Thailand. We have O's and the extension always requires a letter from the bank no older than the day before we renew, plus copies of every page of the passbook for the past 12 months.

, most likely, the Embassy is asking for a bank statement from your Thai bank. Try contacting your Thai bank asking if they can send it to you?
