Somebody just told me, that the online 90-days registration (for retirement visa etc.) is not working any more.

Can somebody coroborate this?

Is this true and if so, is the software broken or has the Immigration pulled the plug?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Recent discussions confirm that the online 90-day registration system for retirement visas in Thailand has been down since February 18th, with no updates suggesting when it might return. Many expats have resorted to in-person registration at immigration offices, such as the Muang Thong Thani office, or opting for mail submissions. Some individuals have even reported that it is possible for someone else to file on their behalf, raising concerns about the reliability of the data collected. This situation underscores ongoing challenges with the immigration process in Thailand.

Can do by mail, in person or someone can go to immigration office and report for you.

Really? Is that true? If so, it makes a mockery of the entire system. If anyone can do it, then just how reliable is any of the data that they are collecting?

from 1987 to 2002, the rule already existed but nobody was ever asked to report. Then a smart guy decided to enforce that old law from the communist guerrilla era.

I'm currently living on Koh Tao. Nearest immigration office is Samui or Surat Thani. A friend was going for covid extension a few days ago. He took my passport, a completed TM.47 and a handwritten authorisation from me, saying he could report for me. Was accepted no problem. My next 90 day report is now end of June.

Been down since Feb 18th. They put out a notice on the website saying they'd have it sorted by the 22nd

BUT this being the glorious "Land 'O Thaiz" that date has come and gone and it's still down :P

In Bangkok, you do it by mail, or you slog out to the Muang Thong Thani (alternate) immigration office and file one in person

It’s been down for a while. Lots of promises as to when it will return.

I did my in person today at MTT. In and out in minutes. They make you hand write a TM47. Then they scanned my old one, printed a new one and threw away the one I wrote. No idea why I had to write it. But TIT. 🤷🏻‍♂️

not at all. Was there about 2 and maybe 30 people there. I would be shocked if I was there more than 15 minutes.
