(Si Na) Saving Face more often misused for getting yourself out of trouble. Basically, asking the other to back down and walk away quiet.

Just a typical Thai trying to save face unable to speak good enough English to explain himself. Aka ( I don,t know how to do it) , ( i don,t want to do it.) , (boss angry I do it) , or you , you, give me money. If more foreigners stood up to paying bribes and extra fees for parks etc this would all stop. Just learn how to say NO! and don,t worry about your partners feelings because YOU stood up to them. Remember it is always YOUR fault for discussing the issue. Not the person trying to screw you over.

As long as foreigners continue trying to work around Thai Immigration laws the laws will just become more difficult for everyone. Seen it happen time and time again.

That is a new one have have not heard before from dodgy banks. Banks , Insurance companies and health care. Three biggest scammers on the planet.

Foreigners really need to get out more by themselves.

Good idea you learn some basic Thai. Secondly, you are not going to learn much about Thailand nor the Thais by hanging with other foreigners. My advice spend at least a few months here and see how you handle it.

? any Thai restaurant? The best Thai food is more often than not where there are few if any foreigners.

The best soup I have had anywhere in the world 25 baht. Not found where there are any foreigners.
