million thanks! Penang seems so much better now. May I ask one more thing? How is Ho Chi Minh city vs Penang? Which one of these two you would suggest?

, I didn't check this info properly. Now I understand what people mean by getting visa in Siem Reap. Do you know is it easy procedure in Phnom Penh? Or is it much better to get a visa in Penang MY?

Other posts in this group talk about getting visa in Siem Reap, but they are taking agents. I assumed there is a consulate where I can go by myself

I had the same question and I found out that it is impossible to get METV. To get METV you have to provide employer's letter or certificate of self-employed. That guy doesn't have these documents, therefore officially he is unemployed. Nobody gives METV to unemployed persons, they don't give a shit how much money we have.

Elite visa would be solution but it is too expensive as it is necessary to pay 15k in advance and you have to prolong a visa anyway.

, this pattern doesn't work for me. I can't just do border runs as I get 15 days on arrival and can prolong for 7 days, not 30 :( I understand the best option for me is official SETV for 2 months and hopefully I will be able to prolong it to one more month (not just 7 days). And then again SETV.

I agree, it is too pricey. Last 3 years I stayed in Nicaragua, we paid 17$ a month when prolonging visas. Investor's visa requires to invest $30k. Now it seams like paradise.

Thai Elite Visa is a nice option but requires to pay the full five year fee $15k upfront... omg, it's real money. Of course traveling every 3 months and prolonging visa for the third month, also cost money. Maybe in 5 years period it is more or less the same 15k. I wish they had elite visa for one year..
