I will go to Siem Reap to get SE tourist visa. It will be my third Thai visa in a row, I have European passport. I've heard that Siem Reap consulate might be difficult to get a visa, is it true? What problem did you experience?

I will not use an agent and I will go further to other countries. Will fly back to Thailand from Vietnam or Malaysia.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around obtaining a Single Entry (SE) tourist visa for Thailand, specifically in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Users have expressed concerns about the difficulty of getting the visa at the Siem Reap consulate, clarifying that SE tourist visas are only issued at the Thai Embassy in Phnom Penh. Although the consulate may not be the most user-friendly, meeting the necessary requirements is generally sufficient for approval.

You cant get an SETV in Siem Reap. They're only issued in PP. It's not the most user friendly Embassy, but as Robert says if you meet the requirements you should be ok

There is always a risk, we are not Thai Consulate employees who can tell come that day and I will stamp your visa. Just in case, if it goes wrong book a flight to Bangkok with arrival about 3 hours before your "real flight" and stay in transit and check inn with that real flight. No need for a visa.

I just read reports, personally I say you can use every Thai Consulate as long as you meet their requirements. But be aware that applying for back to back tourist visa can give warning stamps or even be denied as they are not meant to be used to live inside Thailand.

million thanks! Penang seems so much better now. May I ask one more thing? How is Ho Chi Minh city vs Penang? Which one of these two you would suggest?

Out of reports on this page. Both Consulates want you to have all the requirements in order. Phnom Penh can stamp the visa Void Without Prejudice if they think you have to many Tourist Visa in your passport, Penang will or not take the application or will put a warning stamp next to the visa for next time.

The agents take your passport and sent them to Phnom Penh, there is no Thai Consulate in Siem Reap.

Other posts in this group talk about getting visa in Siem Reap, but they are taking agents. I assumed there is a consulate where I can go by myself
