some officers may like to see the monthly deposit on same date each month and marked on the statement as a pension. They like regularity from the same source.

You need a visa to enter the border country at ranong I think Burma I forget now. but i did a visa run to Satun a month ago rather than ranong because of need for visa at this crossing at ranong. No visa needed to enter Malaysia at satun. I used kvb visa run out of phuket. Great day no issues.

yes it's a bit of a pain. But we want to live here so thems the rules.

You go fromm Bangkok to papaya for one lousy night you gotta do the tm 30 thing. My wife is my landlord so every time we leave phuket for overnight we go immigration same day we return or very next day. If we stay with family its a bit different.

You know if you own a house or condo and a friend stays at your place overnight you need to do a tm 30 for them. My daughter comes over from Australia and we do tm30 for her to stay with us.

Many expats saying they won't be having anymore friends etc. Stay in their place because of this. They will get over it.

Thai government is doing this because they think internationally Thailand is looked at as a place where crims can hide.

So to dispute this sentiment they want to know where every person is every night. Bit of a job.

Tricky.

You have to void your OA visa by leaving Thailand.

Then return and apply for a 90 day non immigrant O. Based on retirement.

After 60 days can apply for an extension for one year . Then every year after just apply for extension of stay without leaving Thailand.

LISTEN.

If your current OA visa is a multi entry visa leaving Thailand will not void it. When you come back in to Thailand you will be stamped back in as being on that existing marriage visa.

You need to come back in to Thailand on a tourist visa or 30 day visa exemption. Can apply for tourist visa at some nearby country of your choice if your not eligible for 30 day visa exemption . I left on the day my visa expired so my visa was expired and came back in as visa exempt. Then immediately applied for 90 day non O.

If you have long time left on current visa and don't want to wait for it to expire I am not sure what to do. I think, you need to check this, that when you apply for a tourist visa from outside Thailand this application automatically cancels or renders void , your current O marriage visa.

Then apply immediately like 2nd or third day back in Thailand. for a 90 day non immigrant O visa based on retirement. Assume you over 50.

Then after 60 of the 90 days is gone apply for a 12 month extension of stay.

Yes . This was always the rule but never enforced. Now checking and enforcing the tm 30 for any time, every single night. If you sleep some where else you must get landlord to do new tm 30. If do not stay in your usual residence, say you stay with friends or family overnight if they not bother to do a tm 30 then no one knows the difference .

But hotels will do a tm 30 now. Every time.

So when you return to your usual residence after a hotel stay , ALWAYS ask landlord to d0 a new tm 30
