Just remember if you do any kind of work you technically need a work permit. You might risk it but you never know when someone will turn you in.

didn't say that. I'm referring to people who do but insist it's a hassle. Every time thus discussion cones up someone who can get one says it's a hassle. It isn't. Clear for you now?

Some are acting like getting a yearly extension is a hassle. I have been doing it for years and never a problem. Make some copies hand them in pat 1900 baht. What's the big deal.

While it's possible you may want to look at how you will live on $600 a month here. While cheaper than the US it is getting more and more expensive.

Another difference is using the marriage reason you can work. Using retirement you can't.

is thus a recent change? It's been a while but I got one year multi entry B and O from the honorary in Dallas. I know others did maybe 2 years ago.

Phil there are also quite a few Honorary Consulates in the US that process visas.
