Tod Daniels and Graham Gross if I was wrong about the investment visa I apologise. Tod I understand for investment you first need a non immigrant visa. Then show 10m baht investment in either a Thai bank fixed account or purchase a condo or buy government bonds. I don't believe buying shares in a Thai company qualifies.

TLDR : Answer Summary
To obtain an Investment Visa in Thailand, you need to first apply for a NON-O visa. After this, you must demonstrate a 10 million baht investment, which can be deposited in a Thai bank, invested in a condo, or used to buy government bonds. Buying shares in a Thai company does not qualify for this visa. There are alternative options like the Thai Elite Visa, which offers various investment levels.

I was on the investment visa back when it was only 3MB, but later switched to Thailand Elite (1MB) which allowed me to free up funds for investment purposes. Thai Elite now has options ranging from Bt. 500,00 up to 2MB (5yrs to 20 yrs) and you can do whatever investments you like, might be worth consideration.

It’s not why I’m here, was just asking because I was chatting with a friend about it, I appreciate the insight.

Thanks. I looked through that before. And previously had a law firm tell me that buying shares in a Thai company doesn't qualify. Nobody has proven that wrong.
